An Unfaithful Nation

Since I became the pastor here, I have tried to be faithful to teach the whole counsel of God. What does this mean? It means that we leave nothing out! I admit that there are books and passages in the Bible that are much easier to teach than others. In the Old Testament there are 12 little books at the end of it that are occasionally quoted from, but seldom taught through. We are not going to go verse by verse in these, but my plan is to spend a week on each one, working to glean from the book the “Major” point that God is using the writer to make. I also want us to know who the writer is directing his words to specifically, and what is going on to cause him to send that specific message. Most of these books are unusually short and to the point. They are the Minor prophets, not because they are not as important, but because they are shorter on words and at times a bit more direct than their longer relatives, the Major Prophets (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, etc.). I am excited about our series, so mark it down and plan to join us for every one.
