Malachi

We have finally arrived at the final Minor Prophet. We started the sermon series over these 12 books in early October. We took a 4-week break during the Christmas season and returned to them after Christmas. Malachi is the final writer for the Old Testament Canon. After Malachi writes, God is silent for about 400 years, so what he has to say is vital. He is dealing with people who believe that God has failed them. They have not gotten all of the blessings that they believe they were promised and they are effectively judging God for this. Their self-centeredness has caused their vision of events to be totally distorted. Because they miss God they miss about everything else. There is a great lesson in Malachi for us, when we get God and His work wrong (see it through a false lens) nothing will be right in our lives.
