Decision Day

We consider only two verses this week, but, “oh are they packed with important things.” The religionists among us hate these verses. Why? They are cut and dried. Who do you know who is blunt and I mean whether the discussion is what to have for lunch or the outcome of a game, they state it in terms that allow for no wiggle room? Sometimes it is hard to have a long discussion with these folks, because they will not budge on a jot or tittle! I greatly respect them sometimes and then other times they refuse to compromise on anything to the point that they can be down right difficult. Jesus does not budge here, so if you are looking for a soft gentle “whatever” you are going to leave disappointed. Jesus on this day is going to say, there are 2 gates, 2 ways, and 2 groups. Once you choose your gate then your way and your group is selected for you. The only way to reverse your way and group is to reverse the gate that you have chosen. The narrow gate does not look nearly as enticing as the broad gate.
