What is a Pure Heart?

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit!” Nathanael said what he meant and meant what he said. There was no deceit or treachery in the heart of this man. Yes, he had a sin nature, and yes, he sinned, but his intent was pure. So the question arises immediately, “How do we get and maintain a pure heart? Well, I certainly have not mastered that, but our passage this week is going to help us figure that formula out. A pure heart begins by being surrendered in every part of our being. We want what He wants more than we want what we want.
