Mercy?!?

What comes to mind when you hear that? That used to be what we would say when we give up when wrestling as children with our friends. When the choke hold got to tight or you were tired of getting put on your back and sat on, you would say, “MERCY” and that meant that the opponent won and you were giving up. In our culture mercy is viewed as weakness and undesirable but Jesus tells us the opposite in Matthew 5.7. Many times it’s not natural but when we show mercy and show mercy to someone, it is a demonstration of our own hearts giving up and saying that God has the victory in your own life. MERCY!?!
